SANDIA PUEBLO — A columnist for The New Mexican and the city of Santa Fe's records custodian were among the winners this year of the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government's Dixon First Amendment Freedom Awards.

New Mexican columnist Milan Simonich and city records custodian/Inspection of Public Records Act manager Katherine Garcia-Gallegos won awards in the media and government categories, respectively. They were honored at an awards ceremony at Sandia Resort and Casino on Thursday.
