GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A beloved business in downtown Greenville is forced to temporarily shut its doors after midnight, after city officials said they violated some conditions of their special exception permit—a lesser penalty than originally suggested.
On Thursday night, the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) suspended Reys, located on 20 N. Main St., from operating between midnight and 2 a.m. for 45 days.
A few days before the ruling, Planning and Development staff revoked the restaurant’s special permit , citing several violations:
Hosting DJs after midnight
Failing to post a food menu on their website
Failing to serve food, as outlined by their General Food and Beverage and Bar conditions
