TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A federal judge has granted local prosecutors access to Julio Aguirre for state charges he faces in Pima County. Aguirre, an undocumented immigrant, was taken into custody by federal authorities shortly after an alleged crime spree in midtown Tucson that left a man dead over the summer.

The recent ruling by Judge Rosemary Márquez orders federal authorities to allow access to Aguirre for an initial appearance, arraignment, and witness depositions related to the charges in Pima County.

"We have a four generation family that was deeply affected and those great grandparents are 76 and 79, who need to assert their victims rights and we need to preserve their testimony right away," Pima County Attorney Laura Conover told News 4 Tucson.
