SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners are launching their playoff series at home this weekend, and with the Seahawks and Sounders also playing, more than 100,000 fans could crowd into the city’s stadium district on Sunday.

That means booming business for hot dog vendors — but not everyone is cashing in fairly, according to licensed sellers.

Legal sidewalk vendors say they’re losing money to a surge of unlicensed competitors operating near the stadiums. One licensed vendor told KING 5’s Maddie White he occasionally sees health inspectors force unpermitted sellers to leave, but they often just move a block away and continue serving food.

"They'll go one direction while they're going the other direction," said Joshua Trujillo, who works at Korn Star, a kettle corn stand.
