The first moves have been made in the AFL's free agency period, with Carlton's Jack Silvagni and Tom De Koning off to St Kilda.

The free agency period officially began on Friday morning, opening the way for clubs to complete deals already in the works.

Carlton father-son Silvagni was the first to be confirmed, with the AFL clearing the unrestricted free agent to move to the Saints after paperwork was lodged. Loading Twitter content

St Kilda also lodged paperwork for Carlton's Tom De Koning and the move was confirmed late Friday afternoon.
