European astronauts could soon live and work aboard the Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS), India's ambitious new space station project, according to Josef Aschbacher, Director General, European Space Agency (ESA).

In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, the Director General revealed his recent discussions with the Indian Space Research Organisation in Sydney during the International Astronautical Congress 2025.

Discussions between ESA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) are actively underway on multiple fronts to strengthen collaboration in human space exploration. These talks encompass areas such as space exploration, Earth observation, use of deep space communication networks, and aspects of commercialisation.
