A senior prison officer has been sentenced over a relationship with an inmate, during which the pair communicated using a smuggled phone. Amie Turner, from Bolton, started working in HMP Manchester in 2014 and in 2023 was promoted to Band 4 senior officer, Manchester Crown Court heard.
But during that year, the 34-year-old made dozens of secret calls and texts to a prisoner . Prosecutor Louise Kitchin said phone records showed Turner's number had been in 'sustained contact' with the illicit phone between November and Dece
