Hundreds took to the streets of Sydney’s CBD overnight for a snap protest in support of those on the Sumud Flotilla.
The event, organised by members of the Palestine Action Group, was held after the Israeli navy intercepted the widely publicised Gaza-bound flotilla, which included dozens of boats holding activists including Greta Thunberg and at least two Australians.
Police say an estimated 400 people attended the unauthorised march through the CBD before they returned to Sydney’s Town Hall.
“There was minimal impact on pedestrian or road traffic in the area,” a police spokeswoman said.
The march only lasted for about two hours, and police say no arrests were made, nor were there “any incidents of note”.
