Australian writer Clementine Ford has vanished from Instagram and Facebook after a string of highly charged posts in which she mocked the widow of murdered US conservative Charlie Kirk and praised climate activist Greta Thunberg for protesting Israel’s blockade of Gaza.

On Friday afternoon, Ms Ford’s Instagram page was showing the error message: “Sorry, this page isn’t available”, while her Facebook profile read: “This content isn’t available at the moment”.

The writer and broadcaster’s last activity online centred on Thunberg’s involvement in the Global Sumud Flotilla.

Ms Thunberg and others were detained in the early hours of Thursday as they attempted to breach the Israeli navy blockade.
