Bronwyn Bishop has accused Labor governments of “cowardice” for failing to confront pro-Palestinian activists, warning Australia’s democracy is “under threat” as fresh rallies are set to take over Sydney streets.

Speaking to Sky News’ Rowan Dean on the World According to Rowan Dean, the former Speaker of the House blasted NSW Premier Chris Minns and his Police Minister Yasmin Catley for refusing to step in as pro-Palestinian groups threaten to march on the Sydney Opera House next week.

“Because they don’t want to,” Bishop said when asked why authorities had not acted.

“You only had to listen to the pathetic address by the Police Minister this morning in New South Wales. ‘Oh, we’ll leave it up to the police’, but she is the Police Minister. She is in the face of the government,” Ms Bisho
