SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated album, The Life of a Showgirl, dropped at midnight.

It’s a hot topic across the world and right here in our region.

We sent our Sophia Thomas to Target, where a crowd gathered at midnight to get their hands on a physical copy of the album.

It was a small but mighty crew here at Target.

A few dozen people clung to these admit-one tickets, waiting for the clock to strike midnight.

Target, typically closed by 10 p.m., opened its doors just before midnight until 1 a.m. to release the album on vinyl and CD.

Fueled by Starbucks samples, Swifties in themed outfits danced in line and sang along to old Taylor Swift music pumped through the store’s stereo.
