BRANDON — After more than eight decades, the remains of Pfc. Charles N. Milam of Greenville have been positively identified and will be returned home for burial.

Milam, 20 years old when he went missing in action during World War II, will be honored in funeral services beginning Sunday evening in Brandon, with burial set for Monday afternoon at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton with full military honors.

Visitation and service schedule Visitation is scheduled Sunday, Oct. 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. (Central) at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. The funeral service in the chapel will follow Monday at 11 a.m. Burial at the state veterans cemetery in Newton is set for 2 p.m. with military honors.
