Eddie Howe has declared his unwavering loyalty to Newcastle following speculation that Manchester United could consider him as a potential replacement for embattled boss Ruben Amorim.

United have taken just seven points from their first six league games. A dire 2024/25 campaign meant a fast start was needed this season but United have struggled to pick up points.

A 2-1 victory over Chelsea lifted the mood at Old Trafford and it was hoped the result could kickstart United's season. However, any momentum they were looking to build was soon squashed by the 3-1 defeat at Brentford last weekend.

Should United part ways with Amorim, Howe has been mentioned as a possible replacement. Gareth Southgate is also said to be in the running, with Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasne
