The debate between vocational school or college exists because the cost to go to college is so high and the demand is growing for skilled tradespeople.

Farley said Ford may need to rethink how it recruits people in the future.

Ford Motor Co. CEO Jim Farley said there's a "live debate" in his household around his son's future as his son contemplates a career in skilled trades rather than a four-year college degree.
