The province is accepting feedback on a proposal by a Thunder Bay proponent to create three new cottage lots on Upper Shebandowan Lake, an area that has previously been the focus of a new high-voltage power line.
The proposed lots are located about 70 kilometres northwest of the city.
"Each lot is proposed to be used for . . . recreational use with cottages serviced by individual, on-site sewage systems and water from the lake," according to a public notice issued this week by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
The lots, if approved, would oversee the lake's northern shoreline.
The properties can be accessed from Highway 11 via Kabaigon Road, as well as a four-kilometre private road that crosses Crown land, the notice says.
