A £6.4 million clinical trial is set to come to Coventry as families in the city who have lost loved ones 'too soon' with an oesophageal cancer screening trial. The trial will be used to test people with heartburn for Barrett's oesophagus, a condition that can lead to oesophageal cancer.
The trial could lead to a new screening programme to help save more lives, Cancer Research UK says. The trial, which involves taking the test on a mobile screening van, is backed by £6.4 million in funding from Cancer Research UK and the National Institute for Health and Care Research.
