A driver in Woburn was seriously hurt on Thursday night after they crashed off the road and collided with a pole.
The single-car crash happened by the rotary on Route 38 at around 8:45 p.m. on Oct. 2, according to the Woburn Fire Department.
A person was trapped inside the vehicle after it veered off the road and struck a pole, splitting the hood on impact. The car’s engine then caught fire, which spread across the scattered debris, the fire department said.
Firefighters extricated the driver from the car as they extinguished the flames. The driver was seriously injured and brought to a hospital.
The crash is under investigation by the Woburn Police Department.
