Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is witnessing one of its biggest uprisings in years. From Muzaffarabad to Dadyal, thousands of Kashmiris are on the streets demanding jobs, electricity, and dignity. Instead, they are facing bullets. The Pakistani Army and ISI personnel opened fire on unarmed protesters, killing several and injuring over 200. Even PoK police personnel died in the clashes. At Palak Bridge, demonstrators toppled massive containers placed to block their march. Funerals for those killed drew massive crowds despite a complete communication blackout enforced by Pakistan. As Shehbaz Sharif’s government rushes negotiators to calm the situation, the question looms: Has Pakistan declared war on Kashmiris in its own occupied land?
