West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has raised strong objections against the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for releasing 65,000 cusecs of water without prior notice, suggesting it was an attempt to create hardships during the festive period. The CM declared that the state government is prepared to confront what she describes as a conspiracy with full resolve.

In a post on social media platform X, CM Banerjee expressed her dismay, stating, "Bijoya Dashami should mark the culmination of Durga Puja with celebration and hope. Instead, DVC's unauthorized release of 65,000 cusecs of water has disrupted a peaceful conclusion. This unilateral action is reprehensible, imperiling millions in Bengal. It's a deliberate, not natural, disaster." She vowed to prevent any further sabotage again
