SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) -- An investigation is underway after a sexual assault incident was reported on an Upstate college campus.

Converse College has alerted its campus community about the reported sexual assault that occurred between September 28 and September 29 in the Twichell parking lot on campus.

The notification was sent via email on October 1, in compliance with the Clery Act, which mandates that universities inform their communities about certain criminal activities on campus.

The Clery Act aims to provide timely and accurate information to help campus members make informed decisions about their safety and aid in crime prevention.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Spartanburg City Police Department.
