George Edmundson is expected to miss the next five to six weeks of action, as Rob Edwards confirmed the extent of the defender’s hamstring injury.

Edmundson suffered his latest injury blow just one minute into Tuesday’s goalless draw against Stoke City, pulling his hamstring when passing the ball. As Edwards sat down to preview Boro ’s trip to Portsmouth, he was able to reveal the major blow to the defender, who'd only just broken back into the team.

It’s a blow for him, and also Boro who are still without Darragh Lenihan at least for another couple of weeks.
