SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – One person has been arrested and a second suspect is being sought after the theft of a donation box in Springfield.
Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said that officers responded to a city library branch on the 200 block of State Street on Saturday morning for a reported larceny. Two suspects allegedly cut the lock on a donation box in the library and reportedly also did the same thing at the Springfield Museums on Edwards Street.
As security guards tried to stop the suspects, one of them, identified as 33-year-old Karly Bond of Hampden, allegedly punched a security guard in the face. Police arrived, placed her under arrest, and recovered over $500 in donations. She is facing charges including two counts of breaking into a depository, possession of
