SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State University announced Thursday that Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, director and executive producer Taylor Sheridan will have his creative archive on display at the school.

The collection will be preserved at the Wittliff Collections, located in Texas State’s Albert B. Alkek Library. The Wittliff, founded in 1986 by Bill and Sally Wittliff, preserves literature, film, music and photography from the Southwest. Bill Wittliff, an Emmy-nominated writer and producer, was best known for adapting the screenplay for “Lonesome Dove.”

Sheridan, a Texas native, studied theater at Texas State in the 1990s and received an honorary doctorate from the university in the spring.
