A high-speed crash into a power pole in North Hollywood left one person dead and several others trapped Friday morning.

The violent collision was reported just before 1:45 a.m. on Vanowen Street near Lemp Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Responding firefighters extricated the victims trapped inside the vehicle and provided immediate medical care.

Despite their efforts, a 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man, said to be 25 years old, was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition. Two 19-year-old males were also rescued and taken to trauma centers in fair condition, the Fire Department said.
