FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - An active search is taking place in Fairfield County for three armed suspects, the sheriff says.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office says it’s currently looking for three male suspects believed to be involved in a shooting that occurred this morning in the area of Garden Street and West Washington Street.

The suspects allegedly fired multiple shots into a vehicle before fleeing the scene. Deputies say when they attempted to stop the suspects’ vehicle, the suspects ran from officers on foot, last seen armed.

At this time, Sheriff’s Office K9 units are actively searching the area.

Authorities urge all residents to avoid Garden Street and West Washington Street until further notice.
