GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Jewish communities in Eastern North Carolina say they are mourning alongside worshippers in England after a deadly attack outside a synagogue during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism.
British authorities said at least two people were killed and three others seriously injured Sunday when an assailant drove into a crowd and then attacked worshippers with a knife outside a synagogue in northwest England . Police shot and killed the suspect, who wore a vest initially feared to be an explosive device but later found to be fake. Officials declared the incident a terrorist attack.
