ELBA TOWNSHIP — A Saginaw County man was killed and his passenger seriously injured after a motorcycle collided with a piece of farm equipment in Gratiot County on Oct. 2.

According to an Oct. 3 news release, the Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at about 1:45 p.m. on Mason Road just south of M-57 in Elba Township.

Deputies said a motorcycle driven by 31-year-old Daniel Pupava of Saginaw County attempted to pass farm equipment that was turning east into a field. Pupava was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female passenger on the motorcycle was flown to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. The driver of the farm equipment was not injured.
