NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)-- A man was sentenced 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to committing multiple sex crimes between 2019 and 2020 against a Norfolk child who was less than 10 years old.
35-year-old Jamal D'Angelo Jackson met the victim's family in Maryland in 2013. Over time, he became a close family friend and lived with the family on and off through July 2020. In October 2020, the victim reported Jackson's abuse in a forensic interview with police. Jackson was later arrested in Maryland for charges he had pending there. He was extradited to Norfolk in January of 2022.
