LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg near Fairdale Friday morning.

A spokesperson for the department said it was around 11 a.m. when officers were called out to the scene in the 9000 block of West Manslick Road.

When they got there, they found a man who had been shot in the leg.

He was taken to UofL Hospital, with what police believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials said they were able to detain the person they believe is responsible for the shooting at the scene, but their identity has not yet been released.

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is leading the investigation.
