President Donald Trump gave a grim response when asked about the 2026 midterm elections.

During an interview with One America News Network, the president was asked whether he planned to stump for GOP candidates during next year’s critical races, the New York Post reported.

“I have big plans, I want to survive,” Trump said with a chuckle.

The president said, “So you look at what’s going on, it’s crazy. You know, the rhetoric that these crazy Democrats are using is very dangerous. They’ve made politics very dangerous.”

Two attempts were made on Trump’s life during the 2024 election, including when Trump was wounded by an assassin’s bullet during an outdoor rally in Pennsylvania.

Trump’s comments also come less than a month after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
