WASHINGTON — Dozens of federal agents surrounded an apartment building in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood overnight Tuesday morning.
This comes as the area has been bracing for a potential military deployment as immigration officials conduct raids .
Federal agents at the apartment building were seen wearing military gear.
A neighbor told reporters people were screaming, there were loud bangs and pops, and he saw two people detained.
Pertissue Fisher, a woman who lives in the building, told Chicago's ABC7 ICE agents took everyone in the building, including her, and then asked questions later.
"They just treated us like we were nothing," Fisher described.
