More than 40,000 pumpkins , gourds, mums and haybales will provide a perfect fall backdrop this month for the Myriad Botanical Gardens ‘ signature fall festival, which opened on Friday, Oct. 3, and runs through Oct. 26.

This year’s theme is “The Museum of Pumpkinville ,” and the festival will feature nine different themed areas focused on museums throughout the Children’s Garden, with subjects that include art, transportation, history, bugs and insects, science, prehistory, oceanography, space and geology. Five custom-built pumpkin murals depict a dreamcatcher, insect, pyramid, clownfish and dinosaur, a news release stated.

Inside the south lobby of the Inasmuch Foundation Crystal Bridge are a ferns and fossils exhibit and a pumpkin and mum tree display.

Tickets are $9 per person
