A train struck a car near the Ramsey train station in Bergen County early Friday, sending the driver to the hospital, transit officials said.
The crash happened around 5:42 a.m. at the Main Street crossing when a train not in passenger service was being moved along NJ Transit’s Main line from Hoboken to Suffern, according to the agency.
There were no riders on the train and no injuries to the crew, NJ Transit said.
The driver, an adult woman who was the only person in the car, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that have not been disclosed.
According to ABC7 , she was taken to the hospital with shoulder pain.
Service on the Main/Bergen County Line is continuing, NJ Transit said.
The agency’s police department is handling the investigation.
