SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A North Dakota man has pleaded guilty to vehicular battery from an incident at the 2024 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
In a news release from the South Dakota Attorney General, Robert Shipp, 37, pleaded guilty Friday in Meade County. He is facing a 10-year maximum sentence when he is sentenced December 12.
Shipp was driving a motorcycle August 10, 2024, when he hit a female pedestrian at a the Buffalo Chip Campground. KELOLAND News reported on the crash last year.
"This was a violent crime that could have been avoided," said Attorney General Marty Jackley in a news release. "The victim is suffering long-term consequences because of the defendant's actions."
