HOUSTON - Traffic backup is building in Houston's Upper Kirby area due to a train that's stuck in its tracks.
Houston traffic: Train causing backup
What we know:
The train is creating traffic on at least four streets near the Southwest Freeway and I-610: the freeway feeder road, Richmond Avenue, Westheimer Road, and San Felipe Road.
Union Pacific confirms the train is "experiencing mechanical issues." Crews are working to repair the train so it can move.
What we don't know:
There is no official estimate on when the train will clear the scene.
This is a developing report. We will update when more information is available.
