PONTIAC, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Pontiac Police Department arrested seven people for their alleged connection to a recent crime trend.

Cesar Acosta Guzman, 31, Erick A. Montoya, 33, Yonayker Jose Maveres Barreto, 27, Carlos M Yajure Garcia, 34, Angel M. Guevara, 28, Jesus Rosendo Gomez, 19 and Jossynest Erlimar Naruyez Blanco, 24, were all arrested for possession of burglary tools.

A recent crime trend called “ATM Jackpotting” involves people gaining unauthorized access to an ATM and stealing its contents, a Pontiac police news release said.

At 1:15 a.m. on Friday, officers located a group of occupied vehicles at a Pontiac gas station. One of the vehicles matched the description of a vehicle used in an ATM burglary in Carbondale, Ill.
