WAUSAU − Marathon County has selected a new health officer, who started her position Sept. 29.
Caitlin Suginaka will fill the position left vacant with the resignation of Laura Scudiere in February. Suginaka has more than 15 years of experience in public health, with expertise in trauma-responsive program design, chronic disease prevention, epidemiology, public health policy development and community engagement, according to a Marathon County news release.
In her new role, Suginaka will lead the Marathon County Health Department, guiding its efforts to protect and promote the health and well-being of county residents.
Suginaka previously served as a well-being strategist for the Minnesota Department of Health, a lecturer with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a project manager
