WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Fix Our Forests Act , a bipartisan proposal introduced by Sen. John Curtis in the 119 th Congress back in April, is drawing applause form both sides of the political spectrum and not just his congressional colleagues.

In the midst of an ongoing federal shutdown, political observers note that getting Republicans and Democrats to agree on anything now is nearly miraculous, but Curtis seems to have accomplished that feat.

That bipartisan legislation would combat catastrophic wildfires, restore forest ecosystems and streamline federal forest management to make that process more efficient and responsive.
