LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The YMCA of Central Kentucky is selling its High Street location.

The High Street YMCA has been sold to Tramell Webb Partners, Inc., a student housing developer, the YMCA Board of Directors announced Thursday.

A press release states that the board voted to sell after independent analyses showed that upgrading the current building to modern standards of accessibility, energy efficiency and program space would not be financially feasible.

Later this month, the board will decide whether to remain on a portion of the High Street property and rebuild alongside student housing, or seek alternative locations.
