A Huntsville man was arrested earlier this week by authorities with the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Huntsville Police Department's Anti-Crime team after punching an HPD K-9 while being apprehended.

The two agencies worked with state probation officers to track down James Daniel Jackson, 22, for violating the terms of his felony probation tied to a first-degree domestic violence aggravated assault charge.

According to HPD, on Tuesday, Jackson was seen entering a vehicle and then attempting to leave the area of observation.
