MUNSTER — The secretary of state's office is hosting a public forum Wednesday in Munster seeking feedback on potential changes to two Indiana election laws.

The free event is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the main meeting room at Munster Town Hall, 1005 Ridge Road.

Up for discussion is the possibility of moving all municipal elections to even-numbered years so they coincide with a presidential or midterm election, when voter turnout generally is higher, rather than keeping municipal elections on the ballot typically by themselves in the third year of a presidential term.

Also on the agenda is the possible elimination of precinct polling places statewide in favor of vote centers, which are already in use in Porter and LaPorte counties, where voters can go to any one of sev
