A former federal grand juror who leaked information about the investigation into the state’s handling of Karen Read’s murder case and an unrelated Massachusetts State Police case was sentenced Thursday to two years of probation, including two months of home detention.
Jessica Leslie, 34, of Dracut, pleaded guilty to contempt in August for sharing information about the secret grand jury proceedings with a friend, who then posted details on social media.
“I just want the court to know and you to know that I’m sincerely sorry for what I did," said Leslie, fighting back tears during the sentencing hearing in federal court in Boston. “I truly regret what I did not only because I’m here today, but as a law abiding citizen my entire life.”
