Evann Guessand insists he’s learning quickly under Unai Emery but wants to create his own history in the Premier League after drawing comparisons to Ivorian legends of the era.

Comparisons to his hero Didier Drogba are misplaced, as the forward’s style is not particularly similar to the former Chelsea star. Nevertheless, there has been a rich history of players of Ivorian descent excelling in the Premier League.

Guessand signed for Villa in August in a deal worth up to £30 million from Nice, after scoring 13 goals across all competitions last season and providing 10 assists.

He has started six of Villa’s first nine matches of the season, including the last five consecutively.
