One person was killed and another was injured in an early Friday morning crash in North County, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 9100 block of Northeast Etna Road, south of Ariel, shortly after midnight for a crash.

First responders found the driver died of their injuries, according to the agency. A passenger was transported to an area hospital.

The sheriff’s office did not release any details about the crash or the identities of the people involved. The cause is under investigation.

Etna Road was closed for several hours.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.

This is the third fatal traffic crash this week.

A pedestrian was killed Sunday morning after running onto Interstate 205.
