SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A former Colorado deputy has been taken into custody after fleeing the country in July, according to the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office (SMCSO).
On Friday, SMCSO said former San Miguel County deputy Jesus Nieblas has been taken into custody by Mexican authorities in Agua Prieta, Mexico.
According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Nieblas is accused of possessing 27 videos depicting child sex abuse.
Deputies said Nieblas fled to Mexico around July 10 following the execution of a search warrant on his home and vehicle in Norwood. Evidence reportedly found during the search resulted in probable cause for an arrest warrant.
