Camp Cardinal RV Resort is brewing a bone-chilling haunted house experience that mixes fright with festive fun.
The Hayes campground, on the Severn River near Gloucester Point, is offering a haunted walking trail through the woods where visitors encounter a series of themed rooms — including clowns, pirates and spiders — this Halloween season, camp manager Corey Lamont said.
Loud music, fog and lighting add to the ambience. And, of course, visitors can expect jump scares.
“You may focus on the people in a different direction, and then a person in a scary costume comes out on them and makes a bunch of noise and flaps their arms. It’s all about the noise and the motion and the movement,” Lamont said.
The idea is to scare, but not so much to give nightmares, he added.
“We want to have th
