Seattle’s mayoral candidates will go head-to-head tonight in a live debate hosted by The Seattle Times and KING 5.
Katie Wilson, an organizer who leads the left-leaning Transit Riders Union, is competing against Mayor Bruce Harrell. The race for the city’s top position has seen a surge in donations — a sign the competition is entering its fiercest stage as the November election nears.
The two candidates have traded increasingly sharp barbs in recent weeks as Wilson aims to solidify her position as the frontrunner and Harrell looks to mount a comeback victory. Harrell trailed Wilson by nearly 10 percentage points in the August primary.
