Serafini's Italian Restaurant has been serving the Erie community since 1938, and now that legacy will be continuing.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant on West 12th Street was forced to close, but now the Serafini family is carrying the torch to a new location on State Street, cutting the ribbon on "Serafini’s Trattoria" on Friday.
"It's been part of my family for a very, very long time, and after the closure due to COVID, and with it not reopening, I didn't want that legacy to die out from my family," said Amanda Serafini, Serafini’s Trattoria Co-Owner.
Serafini is the great-granddaughter of Assunta ‘Nona’ Serafini who opened the family's first restaurant using her own family recipes.
