SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Gov. Spencer Cox announced Friday morning that the Utah Legislature had been called into a special session to “ address several matters of state business.”
The announcement said the session would take place on Monday.
Cox said the Legislature would consider amendments to several bills, including to Utah Code §20A-19-103 , “to address redistricting standards” and “to consider adopting new congressional district boundaries in relation to ongoing redistricting litigation.”
The announcement comes ahead of Utah’s Nov. 10 deadline to set its final congressional map for the state, after a judge ruled the maps had to be redrawn ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
