SUPERIOR, Wis. (Northern News Now) - The upcoming children’s book ‘Ellie’s Pursuit of the Mighty Fitz’ will be published by author McKenzie William’s family, over one year after her death.

Since childhood, McKenzie Williams had a love for writing and a determination for greatness.

“If she decided she wanted to do something, she would do the best that she possibly could do,” said William’s mom, Missy Green. “Coming in second wasn’t an option.”

In 2023, she wrote a children’s story. It was about a young girl traveling with her grandma to learn about the Edmund Fitzgerald, mirroring Williams’ relationship with her grandma.

“We had a really close relationship, so I wasn’t surprised,” said Williams’ grandmother Ellie Green. “She loved her grandma.”
